About the Collection

Many pieces of the Collection's visual works mounted on sliding storage racks.

There are over 3,000 works of art in the permanent collection of the Acadia University Art Gallery.

Stewardship of the permanent collection is an important focus of the gallery. The collection is presented publicly through curatorial research projects in the gallery, and can also be found installed throughout the Acadia campus. Works that are not on display are stored in our climate controlled vault and are available for research and consultation.

The collection has been made possible through generous donations of works of art as well as through our acquisition fund, made possible through the support of many, including alumnae Helen Beals and Constance Hayward. We are always welcome to donations of work that help us to build our collection - please contact the gallery for more information.
